Your Local Ranch is seeking a full time Butcher to join our team at our second location! We take pride in providing exceptional customer service and are seeking meat experts in the industry who possess a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor to help us exceed in customer satisfaction.


  • Prior experience as a butcher or in a meat preparation/processing related role, certification in a related post-secondary or industry program is an asset

  • Knowledge of meat products and prime cuts.

  • Superior knife skills and knowledge of operating butchery and meat processing equipment.

  • Willingness to learn about our product and keep product knowledge relevant and current.

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, and able to lift, carry, push and pull weights.

  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to read and write the English language, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts using knives, meat saw, cleaver, and bandsaw to reduce to cooking cuts, such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and grinding meat.

  • Prepare, package, weigh, portion, and label product.

  • Work with Front of House manager to maintain and arrange inventory, product displays, cases, and overall facility appearance and organization.

  • Tend electric grinder to grind meat.

  • Shape and tie roasts.

  • Prepare value add products, such as sausages, hamburgers and jerky.

  • Monitor product quality and freshness and ensure proper rotation of product.

  • Maintain clean and sanitary work station, back room, storage and surrounding areas.

  • Follow and comply with company and regulatory (ex. AHS) policies and procedures, including health and sanitation, maintaining logs and safe work practices.

  • Other reasonably assigned duties as per business need.
